The Role:
As the Senior Revenue & Project Controller, you are responsible for the full financial and operational control of client projects, ensuring accuracy across project structures, budgets, time tracking, billing, and revenue.
You also own the PMO function end-to-end, covering capacity planning, project health dashboards, timelines, documentation governance, and risk oversight.
Additionally, you serve as key-user and system owner of Simplicate, ensuring data accuracy, system structure, and workflow optimization.
This senior role requires independence, analytical strength, and the ability to build and develop scalable processes.
What you will do:
A. Revenue Control & Financial Governance
1. Revenue accuracy & reconciliation
- Own the revenue chain: contract → time → invoice → revenue
- Perform reconciliations across hours, budgets, billing rules, and contracts
- Conduct monthly cut-off, accrual, and deferral checks
- Support month-end and year-end close with analyses and audit-ready documentation
2. Billing governance
- Validate billing configuration, rates, project codes, and client entities
- Ensure correct VAT/BTW, reverse charge mechanisms, and international invoice requirements
- Identify and correct billing discrepancies
3. Debtors / Accounts Receivable
- Monitor outstanding invoices and payment patterns
- Collaborate with account managers on follow-up with international clients
- Flag risks and propose mitigation (e.g. credit checks, prepayments, alignments)
B. Project Management Office (PMO) – Full Ownership
1. Project setup & administration
- Ensure accurate setup of project budgets, timelines, scopes, and deliverables in Simplicate
- Maintain a complete and compliant PMO project governance structure
2. Capacity & resource planning
- Plan and track capacity, consultant availability, demand forecasting, and billable vs. support hours
- Match consultant availability to project needs and escalate risks
3. Project performance dashboards
- Maintain up-to-date dashboards for:
- Project health
- KPIs & performance
- Milestones
- Risks
- Progress and upcoming activities
- Communicate early warnings and improvement actions
4. PMO governance
- Maintain document governance, workflow governance, and process governance
- Ensure accurate and complete project documentation (Freshservice, HubSpot, Simplicate)
- Drive continuous improvement in PMO processes
C. Time Tracking Compliance
1. Weekly compliance enforcement
- Own weekly time-tracking compliance for the entire organization
- Validate completeness, correctness, and project allocation
- Follow up with teams, escalate where needed, and implement corrective actions
- Ensure timesheets form a reliable financial basis
D. System Ownership – Simplicate
1. Simplicate system administration
- Key-user for CRM, Projects, Contracts, Time Tracking, Workflows, and Billing
- Configure and maintain system structure:
- Project hierarchy
- Budget structures
- Contract & subscription models
- Resource planning
- Roles & permissions
- Billing rules
2. System optimization
- Identify inefficiencies and lead system/process improvements
- Maintain procedures, documentation, and user guidelines
- Train internal teams and support adoption
Tools & Systems
- Simplicate – system ownership (CRM, projects, time, billing, planning)
- Freshservice – documentation, contract governance, workflows
- HubSpot – commercial documentation & lifecycle support
- Excel – KPIs, reconciliation, reporting, forecasting
- SharePoint / OneDrive – document management
- Teams / Outlook – communication and coordination
- SignRequest – digital signature workflows
What you bring:
- Bachelor/Master in Finance, Business Administration, Operations, or similar
- Senior-level experience in project control, revenue control, or PMO
- Experience with international/multinational clients
- Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel
- Experience with project/resource planning
- System strength; Simplicate experience highly preferred
- Strong communication skills in English (Dutch beneficial)
